APSC cash for job scam: New Charge sheet filed
Guwahati: In the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam, Assam police have discovered new evidence against 23 Assam civil service (ACS) and Assam police service (APS) personnel.
On Tuesday, the 12th charge sheet in relation to the scheme was issued against 23 APS and ACS officers. They were all among the 60 people who had been detained earlier.
“We have acquired additional evidence against the 23 accused officers,” stated investigating officer Surjeet Singh Panesar.
According to police sources, from January onwards, all of them will be called and questioned for additional investigation. According to sources, the special court has already granted authorization to continue the investigation.
All of the accused in the case were free on bail, with the exception of the main accused and the then-chairperson of the APSC, Rakesh Paul. Paul, who was detained in 2016 and given bail in at least three cases, is still awaiting justice in a case filed with the city’s Bhangagarh police.
