Guwahati: An army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Sonitpur district of Assam on Tuesday.
The tragedy took place in Tezpur of the district.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Amrit Pal Singh, was a resident from Punjab.
According to reports, Singh ended his life by shooting himself by a gun.
He was a soldier of the 4th Corps of the Indian Army.
Meanwhile, the reason behind this sudden and extreme step is not known yet.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the incident is underway.
