Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Praises Dr. Jamuna Bini for Reviving Folktales Through New Media
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has lauded Dr. Jamuna Bini for her creative use of new media to bring the rich folktales of the state to a wider audience. In a recent statement, Khandu commended Dr. Bini’s dedication to sharing stories of bravery, culture, and wisdom, saying, “With changing times, Ms. Jamuna Bini has beautifully leveraged new media to narrate the glorious folktales of Arunachal Pradesh.” Dr. Bini’s latest episode, the 14th in her ongoing series, features a captivating tale of the Bugun tribe.
Dr. Jamuna Bini, an Assistant Professor in the Hindi Department at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), has also earned national recognition for her literary contributions. In April 2024, she was honored with the prestigious Yuva Katha Samman, awarded in memory of noted Hindi short story writer Dr. Vijaymohan Singh. The ceremony, held at the Rotary Club of Shimla, saw Dr. Bini celebrated for her exceptional collection of short stories, Ayachit Atithi Aur Anya Kahaniyan. The award recognizes her significant impact on Hindi literature and her ability to capture the essence of Arunachal’s culture through her compelling narratives.
Dr. Bini’s efforts not only preserve the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh but also introduce its stories to a broader, modern audience.
