Arunachal Governor Advocates Organic Tea Cultivation, Urges Strong Branding and Market Expansion
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd) has emphasized the need for organic tea cultivation, highlighting its sustainability and growing market demand.
Interacting with small tea growers at Raj Bhavan on February 15, he encouraged them to adopt natural farming methods to enhance product quality and align with global consumer preferences for eco-friendly, chemical-free products.
The discussion centered on strategies to promote Arunachal Pradesh’s tea industry and strengthen its market presence. Reaffirming the state’s commitment to positioning Arunachal as a key player in the organic tea sector, the governor urged tea growers to leverage both traditional and digital marketing techniques to boost visibility and sales.
He advised growers to develop a strong brand identity, complete with an attractive logo, eco-friendly packaging, and a compelling tagline that reflects their dedication to organic and sustainable farming. Stressing the power of storytelling in branding, he encouraged them to share their farm’s journey, cultivation practices, and sustainability efforts through social media and product packaging.
To enhance direct consumer engagement, the governor recommended establishing a professional website with an integrated e-commerce platform. He also emphasized the importance of participating in national and international tea trade fairs to connect with buyers and expand their market reach.
Parnaik assured the tea growers of full government support, including marketing assistance, provided they adhere to quality standards, sustainable farming practices, and maintain high production levels.
During the meeting, Tadak Gab, president of the Small Tea Growers’ Association, and tea grower Marpu Baja apprised the governor of the challenges faced by the tea industry in Arunachal Pradesh. The interaction underscored the state’s commitment to strengthening the organic tea sector and expanding its global footprint.
