Arunachal Pradesh CM Announces Honorarium Increase for Indigenous Faith Priests
Northeast Desk, 2nd December: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu declared a forthcoming increase in the honorarium for approximately 3,000 priests during the Indigenous Faith Day celebration. The announcement was made as a recognition of the priests’ dedicated efforts in preserving the state’s indigenous culture.
Participating in the revered Indigenous Faith Day celebration, CM Pema Khandu immersed himself in the chants of Nyibus (the revered Shamans) and lauded the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) for serving as a guiding force in institutionalizing the rich heritage of indigenous faiths.
The festival holds cultural significance, serving as a poignant reminder to cherish one’s cultural roots and to pass them on to the next generation.
