Assam: 6 Injured In Violence Over Land Dispute In Nagaon’s Juria

Guwahati, 2nd December: In a shocking incident, a heated land dispute escalated into a violent clash resulting in the burning of four houses in Juria of Assam‘s Nagaon on December 2.

The incident occurred at around 8 am in Chitalmari Beel, Sutirpar, when Faizul Islam and a group attempted to encroach upon Rahim Uddin’s land.

Rahim Uddin’s family resisted the encroachment, leading to a physical confrontation between the two parties.

Six individuals were injured during the altercation while two are in critical condition due to burn injuries.

In a retaliatory move, Faizul Islam’s group allegedly set fire to four houses belonging to Rahim Uddin. The flames not only consumed homes but also sparked an atmosphere of panic in the community.

Among the casualties, Dildar Hussain and Sukori Khatun were identified as the victims of the blaze.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police officials immediately arrived at the scene and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.

The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical attention.

Tension now grips the area as the community grapples with the aftermath of this violent clash, emphasizing the urgent need for resolution and justice in the face of escalating conflicts over land disputes.
