Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh administration has decided to implement a football training programme in the state’s schools in an effort to encourage a culture of sports in the region.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the football training programme will cover up to 200 schools.
The education minister for Arunachal PradeshTaba Tedir made this announcement.
The “Football for School” programme seeks to develop young athletes in the age group from 6 to 13years.
The Arunachal Pradesh minister announced that the national government and FIFA had reached an agreement to promote football among young people.
According to Taba Tedir, the education minister for Arunachal Pradesh, FIFA and the union education ministry would support the programme.
“Schools with playground and physical education teachers will be selected for the initiative,” Tedir added.
