Northeast Desk, 13th August: As part of the ongoing “Har Ghar Tiranga” program, a grand Tiranga Yatra was held in Seppa, East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, featuring a 600-foot-long tricolour. The event saw the participation of over 2,000 students from various schools across the district, demonstrating a strong sense of patriotism and national pride.

Key dignitaries, including East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Sachin Rana, Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung, Seppa East MLA Ealling Tallang, and Chayangtajo MLA Hayeng Mangfi, attended the rally. The event, which marked India’s 77th Independence Day, was led by Home Minister Mama Natung, a native of the East Kameng district.

In 2023, East Kameng had garnered attention for its 300-foot-long national flag, which was also rallied in Seppa town. This year’s event doubled the length of the flag, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and participation in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

During his address, Home Minister Natung highlighted the significance of the national flag and its colors, explaining that saffron symbolizes sacrifice and power, white represents peace and truth, and green stands for growth. He urged every citizen to hoist the tricolour at their homes to express their patriotism.

The 600-foot-long flag, brought from New Delhi, will be displayed in Seppa town and surrounding areas as part of the celebrations. Natung also acknowledged the efforts of the district administration and police in making the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” (Drug-Free Campaign) in the district a success.

East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Sachin Rana encouraged the public to support the district government in making the region proud and achieving growth across all sectors. The event concluded with thousands of participants chanting patriotic slogans as they walked through the streets of Seppa.
