Guwahati: Seven under-trial prisoners who escaped from the Pasighat Judicial Jail are yet to be tracked.
The incident took place when the lock-ups were opened for dinner at around 6:30 pm on Sunday. When the lock-ups were opened for dinner the prisoners suddenly attacked the guards with “chili and pepper powder” and managed to escape.
The escaped prisoners were identified as Abhijit Gogoi, Taro Hamam, Kalom Apang, Talum Panying, Subash Mondal, Raja Tayeng and Dani Gamlin.
During the incident, five guards were reported injured.
Meanwhile, a search operation is underway by the Pasighat Police. In order to nab the escaped prisoners and also sealed all exit points of Pasighat.
