Arunachal: Sons of the Soil Remembrance Week Honors Martyred Soldier in Changlang

Northeast Desk, 25th May: The Sons of the Soil Remembrance Week, organized by the 11 Assam Rifles, was solemnly observed in Diyun Sompoi village of Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. The event, dedicated to the memory of the heroic martyr Abatar Chakma, aimed to pay tribute to his sacrifice for the nation.

During the week-long commemoration, various activities were conducted to honor the memory of the fallen soldier. Free medical camps offering services such as eye care, dental check-ups, general practitioner consultations, and gynecology treatments were set up to provide healthcare access to the local community.

In addition to medical services, a football tournament was held in memory of the late Abatar Chakma. The finale match saw Oil India emerge victorious with a 5-0 win against Kharchang FC. Brigadier Sarabjit Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by soldiers like Abatar Chakma.

The event served as a platform to celebrate the life and bravery of Abatar Chakma, while also fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation within the community. The 11 Assam Rifles extended their gratitude to all participants and attendees, calling for collective efforts towards building a brighter and more peaceful future for the region.

The free medical camp organized during the event provided essential healthcare services to thousands of underprivileged families in the backward Diyun area, further highlighting the commitment of the 11 Assam Rifles to serving the community and honoring the legacy of their fallen comrades.
