Arunachal to launch surrender policy for insurgents

Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh government is considering implementing a programme for the surrender and rehabilitation of rebels, Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed.

According to CM Khandu, a surrender strategy would soon be implemented in an effort to rehabilitate and integrate captured militants into society.

He stated that through its flagship programmes and overall strategy, the government would make an effort to assist the captured insurgents.

It may be noted that numerous militants recently gave up their weapons in the Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The state police force’s efforts to secure the militants’ surrender were also praised by the Arunachal chief minister.

“The police force has proven its mettle, whether it’s combating insurgency, crimes, or the war against narcotics,” he said.
