Arunachal: Two more arrested in APPSC paper leak case, total 39 held

Guwahati: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the Arunachal Pradesh Police has arrested two more government employees for their alleged involvement in the paper leaks that occurred during the AE Civil Mains exam administered by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) in 2022.

The arrests were made on January 2 and 3.

The government officials who were taken into custody have been identified as Loter Gadi, 31, a Statistical Investigator at C/) ADES in Itanagar, and Lotu Gadi, 38, a Junior Engineer at Hydro Power Anini Sub-Division in Leparada district.

Thanks to these two arrests, 39 people have now been arrested in connection with the paper leak investigation.

It should be mentioned that the government of Arunachal Pradesh recently declared that no one would be spared if they were discovered to have been involved in the suspected APPSC document leak scam and that it would not stand for any “act of insanity.” Every single offender will be dealt with harshly.

The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) called for a bandh that lasted 12 hours in response to the APPSC paper leak scandal. The bandh saw its full fledged effect in the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh in Itanagar, with rows of protesters, sloganeering peacefully, walking down the road.

The bandh call was issued on December 27 at 5 am and would remain in effect until 5 pm.

A shutdown has been declared in the area of the Itanagar capital complex because of the bandh call. Protesters can be seen holding processions and rallies while yelling slogans like “Save Arunachal,” “Fulfill our demands,” and others.

The CBI has been given the case involving the leak of AE (civil) exam questions. The SIC has been investigating cases involving the paper leak since 2014.

On the basis of numerous FIRs submitted by the disgruntled applicants, the SIC is investigating every instance.
