Assam: 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets seized in Cachar, 2 held

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police seized half kg heroin and 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets in Cachar border on Thursday.

Moreover, the police officials further arrested two persons in the connection and they are suspected to be from the neighbouring states.

Following a secret information from sources the state police launched an operation and recovered the drugs.

The operation was led by Joint Commissioner Partha Sarathi Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak.

It may be mentioned that the news has been shared by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Congratulating the Assam Police, CM wrote on twitter, β€œIn an operation led by JCP Partha Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak, another interstate drug network has been busted. Two accused from other states have been apprenhended at Cachar border. 0.5 kg Heroin & 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets seized.”
