Guwahati: At least 14 people have been arrested for being involved with moral policing case that occurred in Assam’s Nazira on Sunday.
The people who have been arrested identified as Dipak Kurmi, Munnna Kawar, Shivshankar Kawar, Nitesh Bauri, Jiten Rabi Das, Puneshwar Karmi, Shankar Kawar, Ramesh Tati, Mani Rabi Das, Ajay Singh Rajput, Uma Chaura, Basanti Kurmi, Asha Garh and Dipali Munda.
All the arrested people, would be put behind bars on Monday.
One person named Nazu Ali past away after a group of people in Nazira, allegedly physically assaulted him in intuition of being a cow thief.
The incident was reported from Bamun Pukhuri tea estate in Nazira on Sunday.
Following the incident, his family member were informed that he was admitted in a crucial condition at civil hospital in Sivasagar. Latter , he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
It needs to be mentioned that 11 people were detained yesterday regarding to case.
