Guwahati: At least 21 cattle heads seized and one arrested in the connection in Assam’s Morigaon district.
Following a tip off from sources the Lahorighat Police officials launched an operation, intercepted a truck which was registered with the numberMN03 21 48 and seized the cattle heads.
According to reports, the seized cows were brought from Lakhimpur. The police further seized the truck for further investigation into the matter.
Moreover, the officials informed that although the handyman of the truck was detained but the driver was capable of fled from the spot.
However, on the other hand in another incident of smuggling of cows, miscreants set on fire a vehicle which was used for smuggling cows in Gauripur town of Dhubri district.
The vehicle registered with the number AS 16-6280 was seized around three days ago by the village guards for allegedly using the vehicle for cattle smuggling from Panbari area of the district.
Meanwhile, the village guard later handed over the smuggled cattles including vehicles to Gauripur police station.
