Assam: 22 Packets Of Heroin Seized From Car’s Music System In Golaghat; 2 arrested

Guwahati, 25th April: In a significant operation conducted by the police in Assam’s Golaghat, a major drug trafficking ring was dismantled with over 200 grams of heroin confiscated and two individuals apprehended, reports revealed in the early hours of Thursday.

Led by the assistant superintendent of police (ASP) crime branch of Golaghat police, Jon Das, the operation unfolded around 11 pm last night in Dergaon.

Preliminary inputs suggest that the operation was initiated based on information about two suspected individuals involved in peddling narcotics. Acting on this intelligence, officials intercepted a car, identified as a Swift Dzire with the registration number AS 05 N 0175, near Rongamati tollgate in Dergaon.

Upon a thorough search of the vehicle, police discovered heroin packets, cleverly concealed within the bass tubes of the car’s music apparatus. A total of 22 packets, weighing around 263 grams, were seized in the operation, with an estimated street value of approximately Rs 50 lakhs.
