Assam: AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal Challenges CM, Promises 700 New Madrassas
Guwahati, 21st April: During an election rally in Nagaon on April 20, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal issued a bold challenge to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, asserting that he would inaugurate 700 new madrassas once he assumes the role of Member of Parliament following the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Addressing the crowd, Ajmal declared, “After the Lok Sabha elections, along with AIUDF MPs from Karimganj and Nagaon in Assam, we will open 700 new madrassas… Himanta Biswa Sarma listen… write in your diary, Badruddin Ajmal is coming to the parliament… 700 madrassas we three brothers will open.”
While extending his support to AIUDF candidate Aminul Islam from Nagaon, Ajmal took a swipe at Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi, accusing him of dishonesty.
Ajmal criticized Bordoloi’s claims of providing employment opportunities, alleging that despite Bordoloi’s assertions, no Muslim attendees at his rallies had expressed interest in accepting a job offer. He questioned Bordoloi’s commitment to the Muslim community over the past five years.
“Even Modi or Himanta Biswa Sarma is unable to provide jobs, and you (Pradyut Bordoloi) claim to have provided jobs, but none of the Muslims has agreed to take a job in any of my rallies,” Ajmal asserted, challenging Bordoloi to account for his contributions to the Muslim community during his tenure.
