Guwahati, 25th October: Guwahati’s Durga Puja celebrations have reached an exuberant high as the Excise Department unveiled a surprising revelation – the city’s residents consumed alcoholic beverages totaling an astonishing Rs 22.05 crore in just three days of the festivities.
This remarkable statistic underscores the city’s spirited celebration during the festival, with a noticeable surge in alcohol sales.
Notably, this year’s figure marks a significant increase compared to the previous year, with Rs 16.80 crore worth of alcohol sold in the Kamrup Metropolitan district in 2022.
