Assam: Arin Kataki, Suspect in Hit-and-Run Case, Faces Potential Re-Arrest

Guwahati, 11th February: Arin Kataki, the prime suspect in a hit-and-run case, is expected to face apprehension once again. Aged 20, Kataki is the son of Pranjal Kataki, an Assistant Conservator of Forest in the Forest Resources and Survey Division, Santipur, Guwahati.

The impending arrest comes in the wake of a new case (number 87/24) registered against the siren gang at Basistha Police Station by the city police. The charges leveled against them include sections 120(B), 188, 290, 287, 283, 336, and 419 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Authorities plan to summon the owners of the nine luxury cars confiscated recently for interrogation. These owners are accused of violating the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 by illicitly installing sirens and red/blue beacon lights on their vehicles. Additionally, they are suspected of acquiring illegitimate car passes for accessing the Assam Legislative Assembly during the ongoing session in Dispur, Guwahati.

However, Basistha Police remained unavailable for comment regarding the incident at this time.
