Assam: Authorities Seize Massive Marijuana Haul in Guwahati Railway Station Operation

Guwahati, 4th May: In a meticulously planned operation driven by actionable intelligence, authorities conducted a targeted search in coach no. H1 of Train No. 14620 DN Tripura Sundari Express at Platform no. 2 of Guwahati Railway Station on May 3, around 5:30 pm. The operation yielded significant results, leading to the apprehension of two individuals identified as Yogesh Kumar, aged 32, son of Pradip Kumar Singh, from Narar village, Kaluahi police station jurisdiction, Madhubani district, Bihar, and Om Prakash, aged 25, son of Pawan Kumar, residing in Narar Pashim village, Kaluahi police station, Madhubani district, Bihar.

During the thorough search, authorities made a startling discovery—a total of 89.100 kilograms of suspected marijuana meticulously concealed in seven packets. Investigations revealed that the suspects were traveling from Agartala, Tripura, en route to Bihar.

Legal proceedings have been promptly initiated against the apprehended individuals in accordance with the applicable laws governing such offenses. This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat the illicit trafficking of narcotics across state borders.
