Assam: Bangladeshi cattle smuggler killed in BSF firing
Guwahati: Border Security Force (BSF) shot and killed one Bangladeshi cattle smuggler in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar district along the India-Bangladesh border on Sunday.
The incident took place at Kukurmara area of the district at around 4 am.
According to reports, the man was shot dead while attempting to smuggle cattle into Bangladesh using a bamboo crane.
The deceased has been identified as Faridul Islam is a resident of Rowmari village in the Kurigram District of Bangladesh.
However, after being interrogated the suspects allegedly fled prompting the BSF to open fire.
It may be mentioned that one of them was hurt in the firing. The BSF attempted to save him, but he died as a result of his injuries.
