Guwahati: In yet another police encounter, a two-wheeler thief was shot in Assam’s Morigaon district in the mid night on Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Tralailya Bordoloi.
In a joint operation against bike theft by the Lahorighat Police and Morigaon police, the police officials arrested the accused from the Kushthali area of the district at around 2 am on Sunday.
According to reports, the accused sought permission from the police officials to urinate while he was being brought to Morigaon.
However, police official shot Bordoloi when he was trying to escape from their custody.
It may be mentioned that the accused sustained injuries and currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Morigaon.
