Assam: BJP Gains Momentum as Tea Estate Workers Join in Margherita
Guwahati, 1st April: With just a few days left before the 18th Lok Sabha polls, political activities are in full swing, with candidates engaging in vigorous campaigning. On Sunday evening, around 8:00 pm, a mass joining program took place at the Margherita BJP office in the presence of Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and other senior BJP leaders.
“From the day the LS election announcement were made, all the respected people from Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha have expressed their willingness to support and be a part of BJP,” says Bhaskar Sharma.
Led by Hari Nanda Gorh, the secretary of the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Margherita branch, who recently joined the BJP, more than 500 ACMS members from 12 tea estates enthusiastically joined the BJP during the event.
The mass joining program witnessed the participation of prominent BJP leaders including Bhaben Sharma, the BJP convener of the 83rd Margherita Constituency, Kusha Kanta Borah, the president of the BJP Tinsukia district committee, and Dhiraj Sonowal, the president of the Margherita BJP Town Mandal, among others.
Expressing his delight at the growing support for the BJP, Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma credited the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attracting such large numbers of new members to the party.
“We are thrilled to welcome the members of the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha Margherita Branch into the BJP family,” said Hari Nanda Gorh, expressing his satisfaction at the significant turnout.
“The party has worked for us. Our MLA Bhaskar sir has also worked on different fields. The construction of home, and water supply work have been initiated by them. We are feeling good,” says one of the workers.
Similarly, Bhaben Sharma and other senior BJP leaders voiced their appreciation for the continued support and dedication of party members, reaffirming their commitment to working towards the party’s goals.
