Guwahati: Mrinal Saikia, a BJP MLA in Assam has spoken out about police encounters after key suspect Biki Ali was encountered today after allegedly attempting to flee.
MLA Saikia said, “Will police use roses instead of guns?” to those who criticise police encounters. He further stated that such offenders should not be allowed to go since they may molest or abuse another girl in the future.
“The interaction with Biki Ali isn’t a big deal. “We cannot allow such offenders to flee because they will repeat the same crime again,” stated MLA Saikia.
He defended the cops, saying that if a criminal tries to flee, the cops must resort to harsh means. “If a criminal tries to flee, the police would fire,” said MLA Saikia.
He further stated that the police should shoot the criminal ten times to ensure that the criminal does not gain the courage to flee the police and that no one can escape the Assam Police.
