Lakhimpur: In a tragic incident, Kalyan Deka, brother of Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka, has died by suicide after a prolonged battle with mental health issues, according to sources. Kalyan, a government employee, had been under medical supervision for his condition.
MLA Manab Deka expressed deep shock and sorrow over his brother’s passing. He revealed that Kalyan had been undergoing treatment for his mental health under the care of Dr. Sangita Dutta. However, after the doctor was incarcerated, Kalyan’s condition took a turn for the worse.
“After Dr. Dutta was imprisoned, my brother’s depression intensified, and he could no longer cope,” Manab Deka said, highlighting the emotional toll the situation had on Kalyan.
