Gauripur (Dhubri): In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police one suspected drug pedd;er along with suspected Brown sugar in Assam’s Dhubri district.
A team of youth led by the Police officer Praveen Chaudhary of Kazigaon police station and three local village guards on Saturday night arrested the accused on National Highway 17 at Suparighat in Gauripur.
The local village guards were conducting daily checking when three youths were coming on motorcycles and the group of youths saw the them and tried to flee. Police and village guards later rushed to arrest a youth but the other two youths managed to escape.
The village guard secretary said that nine suspected container filled brown sugar as well as a mobile handset were seized from the arrested youth and taken to Kazigaon police station.
Legal action has been inited and further investigation is underway.
