Assam CM Announces World-Class Urban Center Project in Jagiroad
Guwahati, July 10: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the implementation of a world-class urban center project in Jagiroad, near Guwahati, aimed at decongesting Guwahati and increasing employment opportunities.
The proposed satellite township will cater to employees of the upcoming semiconductor plant and help decongest the capital city.
CM Himanta shared the news on X, emphasizing Jagiroad as an ideal location for a futuristic and sustainable city.
The government plans to establish Jagiroad as an integrated township with all amenities within the state capital region near Guwahati.
The project will ensure seamless rail, road, and air connectivity, aiding in the decongestion of Guwahati.
The Global City in Jagiroad will accommodate thousands of employees working at the upcoming semiconductor unit.
