Guwahati, 22nd December: Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has made a significant appeal to the residents of Gohpur, urging them to allocate approximately 500 bighas of land for the establishment of Kanaklata University.

Addressing a gathering on the 100th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Kankalta Baruah, CM Sarma expressed the vision for a comprehensive university, offering education from political science to artificial intelligence.

He called upon the people of Gohpur to provide the land and showcase it to the state government’s committee, emphasizing the aim to commence construction before the end of the 100th birth anniversary celebration.

This initiative aligns with Sarma’s commitment to economic and educational progress in the region, and the proposed university holds significance in honoring Assam’s martyrs.
