Assam: CM directs Assam Police to release 36 costable eaxam candidates
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked Assam police to conduct a compassionate investigation into the case of 36 youngsters detained while staging a protest in front of police headquarters recently.
He requested that the Assam Police Department investigate the situation from a humanitarian standpoint and take actions to ensure their early release.
The teens were arrested earlier this month after holding a protest asking that the results of the constable recruitment exams be announced immediately.
The protestors were purportedly enraged by the publication of a new advertisement for police recruiting.

However, the Director General of Police then clarified that the advertisement was published for fresh recruitment, but that is for filling up many additional posts that have been created in the meantime.
