Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Meets Amit Shah, Discusses State Matters & Panchayat Poll Triumph

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital, apprising him on a host of issues concerning the state. The meeting also saw discussions around the impressive performance of the NDA in the recently concluded panchayat elections in Assam.

An official release stated that CM Sarma provided a comprehensive briefing to the Home Minister on various developmental and administrative matters pertinent to Assam. He also extended his compliments to Shah for the significant strides made in combating ‘Red Terror’ across the nation.

Following the meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Chief Minister Sarma on the NDA’s resounding victory in the panchayat polls, acknowledging the mandate received by the alliance.

Taking to microblogging platform X, Sarma later shared details of his interaction, stating, “Had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji in New Delhi today6 I briefed him on various matters pertaining to Assam, including the resounding victory of NDA in the recently held Panchayat polls.” He further added, “On the occasion, I also complimented him on the gigantic gains being made in eliminating Red Terror.”
