Assam CM Inaugurated 300-bed COVID Care Hospital at Sarusajai

Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated a 300- bed COVID Care Hospital at Sarusajai in the State Capital to act as an annex to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

CM Sarma expressed his gratefulness to DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) for having been a generous partner in the project, which he says is a fine example of centre-state collaboration.

CM Sarma said this hospital will strengthen the capabilities of Covid management in Assam, which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 21.46 cr. The hospital will have a facility of 100 ICU beds. The Hospital will also have a life span of 5 years, which will be further extended.

Oxygen facilities will also can be made available to other 200 beds as well. This new facility shall ease strain on hospitals. The Hospital is equipped with a liquid oxygen tank to ensure continuous supply of oxygen to patients. It will be refilled weekly. GMCH and DRDO hospital shall be available for Covid-19 treatment from now onwards.

He also said that there will be 20-bed ICU and 32 Oxygen Supported Beds at Kalapahar COVID Care Hospital, annex of GMCH, is also ready.

CM Sarma also gave best wishes to Doctors and Staff.
