Guwahati: Cheque distribution programme for the Bihu committees has been conducted at the Shankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Monday.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarmad distributed the cheques to Bihu committees in the state. Financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh has been given to the 10-year-old Bihu Committees in the state
The state government will provide cheques to a total of 1267 Bihu committees in the state.
This assistance will be given only to those committees which will complete the Bihu within 7 days
In Kamrup city this one-time assistance will be provided to 138 Bihu committees. Moreover, in Kamrup Rural this financial assistance will be given to 142 Bihu Committees
