Assam: CM Sarma Inaugurates ‘Operation Sindoor’ Exhibition, Leads Tiranga Yatra in Guwahati
Guwahati: In a bold display of patriotism and tribute to the Indian armed forces, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday inaugurated a special exhibition on Operation Sindoor at the State BJP headquarters in Guwahati.
The exhibition has been curated to showcase the strength, strategy, and heroism of the Indian military in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing attendees at the inauguration, Chief Minister Sarma hailed the swift and decisive response of the Indian defence forces, stating, “After the Pahalgam terror attack, our armed forces, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, displayed great valour and destroyed Pakistan. Our missile systems, our defence infrastructure, and the exemplary courage of our forces destroyed the terror infrastructure of Pakistan.” He further encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to visit the exhibition and witness the country’s robust defence prowess firsthand.
Extending the spirit of national pride beyond the exhibition halls, CM Sarma also called on the people of Assam to actively participate in the Tiranga Yatra, a state-wide campaign celebrating India’s military achievements and reaffirming national unity. Later in the day, he joined BJP state president Dilip Saikia in leading a massive Tiranga Yatra from Adabari to Jalukbari in the state capital. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout, with hundreds of party workers and supporters waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans.
Adding to the significance of the march, former Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen (retd) Rana Pratap Kalita also took part in the yatra, lending the event both symbolic and strategic gravitas. The rally, steeped in national pride, stood as a powerful tribute to the sacrifices and successes of India’s armed forces under Operation Sindoor, reinforcing the state’s collective spirit of resilience and patriotism.
