Assam CM to Distribute 23,000 Land Pattas Under Mission Basundhara 2.0

Guwahati, 26th February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to distribute 23,000 land pattas today, approved under Mission Basundhara 2.0, as part of efforts to secure land rights for indigenous people.

The distribution programme will take place in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur, with 12,143 beneficiaries in Sissiborgaon Legislative Assembly constituency and 11,438 individuals in Dhakuakhana LAC receiving land pattas.

The distribution events will be held at Doni Polo Cultural Complex, Silapathar in Dhemaji district, and Dhakuakhana’s Public Field in Lakhimpur.

This follows the earlier distribution of over 12,000 land pattas in Dhemaji district on February 22, where CM Sarma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to extending Mission Basundhara 2.0 to all sections of society, including non-cadastral villages. The initiative aims to provide secure land ownership to indigenous communities, offering hope for a brighter future.
