Assam DGP Flags Off ‘Guwahati Marathon’ Promoting Fitness

Guwahati, 18th February: Assam’s Director General of Police, GP Singh, inaugurated the 21-km ‘Guwahati Marathon’ today, February 18.

Enthusiastic participants of all age groups gathered at the venue, kicking off the marathon with a focus on promoting good health and fitness awareness.

Speaking to the media, GP Singh emphasized the importance of mainstreaming fitness, stating, “Fitness is paramount, and integrating it into our daily lives is crucial. Events like these play a significant role in promoting overall well-being. The participation of runners from various parts of the country and abroad elevates Guwahati’s status on the international stage.”

He extended his best wishes to the organizers, expressing hope that the event becomes a regular feature in Guwahati’s annual calendar.

The marathon attracted hundreds of runners from across the nation and abroad, demonstrating the growing interest in fitness and active lifestyles.

The event is organized by Prerana – IAS Officers’ Wives’ Association, reflecting a collective effort to promote health and fitness within the community.
