Assam: Dhubri Final Voter List Released, Over 12 Lakh Eligible Voters Registered

Guwahati: Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath unveiled the final voter list for the district’s five assembly constituencies during a press conference on Monday, signaling a key step toward electoral preparedness. The updated list provides comprehensive voter data and reaffirms the administration’s focus on transparency and inclusivity in the electoral process.

According to the finalized figures, the 6-Golakganj Assembly Constituency has 2,06,192 registered voters, while 7-Gauripur leads with 3,01,664 voters. The 8-Dhubri constituency accounts for 2,31,372 voters, and 9-Birsing Jarua follows with 2,76,079 voters. Meanwhile, the 10-Bilasipara constituency records 1,95,077 voters. Overall, the district’s total voter count stands at 12,10,384, including 6,675 doubtful voters (D-voters) and 2,102 service voters.

The announcement was attended by key officials, including Additional District Commissioner Banti Talukdar and District Election Officer Sugata Goswami, along with representatives from various political parties. Addressing the media, Commissioner Nath emphasized the administration’s commitment to conducting free and fair elections. He stated that the finalized voter list represents a crucial measure in ensuring electoral accountability and empowering citizens to exercise their democratic rights.

In preparation for the elections, the Election Branch of Dhubri district has successfully conducted training sessions for officials involved in the voter list revision process. These sessions provided guidance on roles and responsibilities for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs), BLO Supervisors, and Designated Officers. Officials have confirmed the appointment of BLOs at every polling station across the five assembly constituencies.

Staff distribution for the electoral process has also been finalized. In 6-Golakganj, 5 AEROs, 21 BLO Supervisors, and 243 BLOs have been deployed. For 7-Gauripur, 6 AEROs, 37 BLO Supervisors, and 361 BLOs are assigned. The 8-Dhubri constituency will have 5 AEROs, 23 BLO Supervisors, and 284 BLOs, while 9-Birsing Jarua will operate with 5 AEROs, 28 BLO Supervisors, and 333 BLOs. The 10-Bilasipara constituency is supported by 5 AEROs, 24 BLO Supervisors, and 244 BLOs.

With these arrangements, the district administration has reaffirmed its commitment to an efficient and transparent electoral process, ensuring that every eligible voter is accounted for. The release of the final voter list is a significant milestone in Dhubri’s preparations for the upcoming elections, reflecting the district’s dedication to democratic participation.
