Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, Assam Police arrested three suspected drug peddlers at Jagiroad in Morigaon district of Assam on Friday.
The three arrestees identified as Basheer Khan and Altaf Khan are the residents of Manipur and Jahirul is a resident of Guwahati.
Following a secret information from sources the Jagiroad Police official launched a search operation in the area and recovered a huge quantity of suspected drugs from the accused.
The police officials further informed that the market price of the recovered Heroin around Rs 5 crores. It was further informed by the officials that the accused came from Manipur on a truck for the peddling of the drugs.
As per the sources of My News Ne, during the investigation the police also seized two trucks bearing registration numbers NL 01 K 9543 and NL 01 N 5480 while they also seized an auto van bearing registration number AS 01 KC 5660.
Legal action has been initiated by the Jagiroad Police officials and further investigation is underway.
