Assam: DVAC Nabs Government Officials in Bribery Cases in Dudhnoi

Guwahati, 16th November: The Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam, has achieved notable success in apprehending government officials involved in bribery and malfeasance, exposing a web of corruption within the system.

On November 16, the DVAC successfully trapped Ashok Rabha, Senior Assistant in the Office of Sub Divisional Agricultural Officer, Dudhnoi, Goalpara. Rabha was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe related to land re-classification matters, showcasing the authorities’ commitment to eradicating corruption at various government levels.

Just two days earlier, on November 14, the DVAC executed another operation, capturing Head Constable Safed Ali of Dalgaon Police Station, District Darrang. Ali was apprehended in Titan Hotel at Dalgaon while accepting a bribe, promising relief to the complainant in a pending case. This operation underscores the DVAC’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of law enforcement agencies.

In an earlier operation on November 8, Purnima Gogoi, Lot Mandal of the Office of Demow Revenue Circle, District Sivasagar, faced the consequences of the anti-corruption drive. Gogoi was caught red-handed accepting a bribe in front of Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office for expediting land patta-related matters. The DVAC’s swift actions demonstrate a resolute stance against corruption within the government apparatus.
