Guwahati, 8th July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently visited a relief camp in Palasbari, near Guwahati, where he encountered a young survivor of the devastating floods gripping the state. Sharing his experience on social media, Sarma emphasized the challenges faced by the youngest flood victims and the government’s commitment to their well-being.

The CM’s visit underscores the state government’s proactive measures to address the needs of vulnerable populations affected by the floods, which have tragically claimed 78 lives to date. Sarma’s focus on ensuring adequate nutrition for children highlights the specific challenges faced by families with young ones in relief camps.

As floodwaters continue to affect large swathes of Assam, authorities are intensifying efforts to deliver essential supplies and medical assistance to displaced individuals. Sarma’s presence at the relief camp serves as a poignant reminder of the human impact of the disaster, particularly on the state’s youngest residents.
