Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, the Jorabat Police of Assam have arrested a five-member dacoit gang on Wednesday night.
Following a tip off from sources, the police officials launched a search operation and arrested the dacoits.
According to reports, the accused were arrested at Jorabat at around 12:30 am while they were travelling in an auto.
The arrested dacoits identified as Nasir Ali, Lebyan Boro, Hari Chandra Deb Barman, Biki Chetri and Moni Kalita.
The police officials further recovered many sharp weapons and other equipment’s from their possession.
Reportedly, the dacoits were heading towards Guwahati when it was intercepted.
It may be mentioned that the accused is currently being interrogated by the police officials and further investigation into the matter is underway.
