Assam: Gaurav Gogoi Visits Silchar to Assess Flood Situation
Guwahati: Newly appointed Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Gaurav Gogoi, accompanied by AICC Secretary Prithviraj Sathe, arrived in Silchar for a two-day visit aimed at assessing the ongoing flood situation in the region.
Gogoi’s visit marks his first engagement in the region since assuming office.
He was received at the airport by Congress leaders and workers from Barak Valley. The visit is part of his broader effort to understand the challenges faced by flood-affected communities and provide on-ground support.
Speaking on the purpose of his visit, Gogoi said, “We are going to the people to know their problems and ask for their advice. We are here on a serious issue. There is no slogan and we are directly going to the flood relief camp.”
The visit underscores the Congress leadership’s intent to directly engage with affected communities and understand the challenges on the ground. The team is expected to visit various flood-hit areas and interact with local residents and officials during the course of their stay.
