Assam Government to Advertise 22,000 Vacancies, Fulfilling Election Promise of One Lakh Jobs

Guwahati, 4th September: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the state government will soon advertise 22,000 job vacancies within the next two months, taking significant steps towards fulfilling their election commitment to create one lakh jobs.

CM Sarma made this announcement during an event where he handed over appointment letters to 514 candidates who were selected in the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) conducted last year. These appointments were made to fill vacancies in Grade III and Grade IV positions across various departments.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sarma stated, “Recruitment announcements for a further 22,000 positions will be made in a month or two. The overall number of hires will then be far more than the initially projected 1 lakh.”

He further emphasized that the recruitment process had been expedited once the pandemic’s impact had subsided. By the second anniversary celebrations of the current administration in the state, appointment letters had already been distributed to around 86,000 job seekers.

Taking to ‘X’ platform, CM Sarma shared, “Shortly, we will advertise another 22,000 vacancies, taking the total government jobs created to 1.09 lakh. Our 2021 election promise was to create 1 lakh government jobs.”

During the 2021 state assembly elections, the BJP had pledged to provide one lakh government jobs in Assam for unemployed youths.
