Assam Government to remove Helipad from Dhubri Stadium

The Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal initiated necessary steps towards dismantling the helipad constructed with concrete and paver blocks at the Zhagrapara Stadium, Dhubri right on top of 3 cricket pitches at the centre of the ground by the Dhubri District Adminstration and removing the pebbled road traversing through the ground to the centre pitch area where the helipad is located.

Earlier, a delegation from ACA led by Devajit Saikia, Secretary, ACA along with its ,Chief Executive Officer,  Sujit Kakati, Mukut Kalita, BCCI Curator and Vinod Sharma, Former First-Class Cricketer had visited the Zhagrapara Stadium, Dhubri on October 30, 2020 and were appalled and shocked to find the aforementioned anti-sports infrastructure inside the stadium that has not only caused extensive damage to the only cricket ground in Dhubri but was also foiling the chances of resumption of cricket activities in the district.
