“Voters are the backbone of democracy, and their participation is crucial for the health of democracy,” Acharya said, emphasizing the significance of informed and active citizen engagement in the electoral process. He noted that National Voters’ Day aims to raise awareness, particularly among first-time voters, about their rights and responsibilities as electors.

Governor Acharya also highlighted the vital contribution of young voters to India’s democratic framework. “Today’s youth, especially first-time voters, are energetic and creative.

Their participation in Indian electoral processes holds great importance,” he remarked, encouraging young citizens to play an active role in shaping the nation’s future.

This year’s theme, ‘Nothing like voting, I vote for sure’, served as a rallying call for eligible voters to step forward and participate in elections. The governor praised the Election Commission for its unwavering efforts in conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, ensuring the integrity of India’s democratic processes.

Acharya concluded by reaffirming that voter participation directly contributes to the nation’s progress and prosperity, urging all citizens to take pride in their democratic responsibilities.
