Assam Govt allows Durga Puja celebrations

Guwahati: The Assam Government has allowed the Durga Puja celebration this year but only with proper COVID-19 norms.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma clearing the confusion regarding the celebration of Durga Puja on Wednesday said that this year the puja will “definitely” be celebrated in the state but he made it clear that the celebrations will be allowed if the people follow the COVID-19 protocols.

Before this announcement from CM, there was confusion among the people, organizers, and idol artists if the government would allow the Durga Puja celebrations this year. However, with the announcement, it was cleared that now the people be allowed to celebrate the event with love and enthusiasm while following all the guidelines.

It may be mentioned that this year Durga Puja is scheduled from October 11 to 15th October.
