Assam: Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry services temporarily suspended Due To Decrease In Brahmaputra’s Water Level

Guwahati, 25th October: Ferry services connecting the north and south banks of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati have been temporarily suspended, according to a notification issued on October 25.

The notification, issued by the Inland Water Transport Department (IWTA), announced the temporary suspension of ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati banks.

While some suspected that the suspension might be related to the immersion of idols during Durga Puja, an IWTA official confirmed that this was not the reason for the suspension. The specific cause for the temporary suspension has not been disclosed, and it is unclear when services will resume.

Further details awaited.
