Assam Home Guard Jawan Stabbed to Death in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, 31st July: In a tragic incident, an Assam Home Guard jawan was brutally stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Santinagar locality in Kokrajhar District on Sunday night. Basudev Kisku, the victim, came from Gurubhasha Ravanghat village in Chirang district and was assigned to the Bengtal police station in Chirang.

According to sources, Basudev had returned to his hometown to participate in a football game. During the evening, he received a phone call from an unnamed person asking for a meeting in Dablegaon in Amguri, Kokrajhar.

Tragically, hours later, Basudev’s lifeless body was found on the roadside, bearing severe injury marks.

Family members of the deceased have asserted that this was a pre-planned murder.

In response to the heinous crime, the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam has issued a stern warning of a democratic protest if the culprits are not apprehended within the next 24 hours.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide solace to the grieving family.
