Assam HSLC Results 2024: Pass Percentage at 75.7%, Top Scorers Announced

The results of the eagerly anticipated High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination in Assam were unveiled on April 20th, 2024, marking the culmination of weeks of anticipation following the exam held from February 16th to March 4th of the same year.

Out of the staggering 4,25,966 candidates who registered for the examination, a notable 6,888 were marked absent, while 361 were withheld, and 61 were expelled, resulting in 4,19,078 candidates who ultimately appeared for the assessment. Among these, the demographic breakdown revealed 1,87,904 male candidates, 2,31,164 female candidates, and 10 transgender candidates.

The overall pass percentage stood at an encouraging 75.7%, showcasing the collective achievement of the examinees. Notably, male candidates secured a pass percentage of 77.3%, while their female counterparts achieved a commendable 74.4%. Impressively, transgender candidates led the pack with a striking pass percentage of 80%.

Celebrations were in order for 6,392 candidates who attained distinction marks, signaling exceptional academic prowess. Additionally, 20,552 candidates were lauded as STAR mark holders for their notable performance in the 75% to 84.99% range. The distribution of division holders revealed 1,05,873 Division 1 achievers, 1,50,764 Division 2 holders, and 60,680 Division 3 recipients.

Among the letter mark holders, a substantial 1,93,159 candidates were recognized for their achievements, with the highest concentration observed in the Social Science subject, boasting 36,973 recipients.

District-wise performance highlighted Chirang as the top performer with an impressive pass percentage of 91.2%, closely followed by Nalbari at 88.1% and Baksa at 86.9%. Conversely, Udalguri district reported the lowest pass percentage at 60.9%, signaling varied academic landscapes across the region.

In the prestigious Order of Merit, the top five candidates emerged as follows:

  1. ANURAG DOLOI from Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat, securing an outstanding 593 marks.
  2. JHARNA SAIK?? from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan, Chariali, Biswanath, achieving an impressive 590 marks.
  3. MANASH PRATIM SAIKIA from Island Academy, Kamalabari, Majuli, demonstrating excellence with 588 marks.
  4. BEDANTA CHOUDHURY from Stella Maris School, Sarupeta, Barpeta, showcasing academic brilliance with 588 marks.
  5. DEVASHREE KASHYAP from Ramanujan Senior Secondary School, Nagaon, earning distinction with 588 marks.

Furthermore, the results were categorized across various demographics as follows:

  • GENERAL: 76.6%
  • OBC: 76.6%
  • MOBC: 75.1%
  • SC: 70.3%
  • ST (H): 78.9%
  • ST (P): 79.1%
  • TEA GARDEN (TG): 51.5%

The announcement of the HSLC results heralds a new chapter for the successful candidates, marking the beginning of their academic and professional journeys ahead.
