Assam Inches Closer to 1 Lakh Job Promise: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati, 17th February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to express optimism about the state’s progress towards fulfilling its promise of providing 1 lakh jobs. This announcement follows a significant milestone achieved in employment, as Assam moves closer to its ambitious goal.

Sarma highlighted the government’s efforts in job creation, emphasizing the importance of empowering the state’s youth with gainful employment opportunities.

Earlier, Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, shared a crucial development on the same platform. Pegu announced the formal distribution of appointment letters to 273 candidates for the position of Assistant Professor under Higher Education, marking a significant step forward in the government’s pledge.

With this recruitment drive, Assam has provided an impressive 94,670 jobs, reflecting the administration’s commitment to bolstering employment opportunities across sectors. Pegu urged the newly appointed individuals to dedicate themselves to imparting quality education to the students of Assam, contributing to the state’s development.

The distribution ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Commissioner and Secretary, Smti Banashree Nath, and Secretary, Shri Narayan Konwar, from the Department of Higher Education, along with other dignitaries.
