Assam: Kaziranga National Park to Reopen for Tourists on October 1
Guwahati, 8th September: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam will reopen to tourists on October 1 after the annual monsoon break, as announced by Park Director Sonali Ghosh. This year, only three of the park’s ranges—central (Kohora), western (Bagori), and Burapahar—will be open for jeep safaris, due to road conditions affected by recent floods.
Jeep safari operations will be available in two shifts: 7:30 am to 10:00 am and 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The park administration is focusing on enhancing visitor experience and ensuring safety during the upcoming tourist season.
Kaziranga, renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity, including the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, is a popular destination for families and wildlife enthusiasts. The park closes annually in May for the monsoon season. This year’s floods resulted in the tragic loss of nearly 200 animals.
